Volume Calculator (Box, Cylinder, Sphere, Cone)
Calculate volume (and gallons) for a box, cylinder, sphere, or cone — fill in only the dimensions your shape needs.
How it works
box = L x W x H. cylinder = pi x r^2 x H. sphere = (4/3) x pi x r^3. cone = (1/3) x pi x r^2 x H. gallons = ft3 x 7.48052.
Worked example
A 2 x 3 x 4 ft box = 24 ft3 = 179.5 gal. A 3 ft sphere = 113.1 ft3.
When to use it
- Pick a shape, then fill only the fields that shape uses; the rest are ignored.
- Gallons use 1 ft3 = 7.48052 US gallons — handy for tanks, fill, and excavation.
