CFM from Sensible Load Calculator
Find the required airflow (CFM) to move a sensible heating or cooling load across a given temperature rise.
How it works
CFM = BTU/h / (1.08 x delta-T in F).
Worked example
24,000 BTU/h across a 20 F rise: 24000 / (1.08 x 20) = 1,111 CFM.
When to use it
- The 1.08 factor assumes standard air (0.075 lb/ft3, sea level).
- Delta-T is the supply-to-return dry-bulb temperature difference.
